Earlier in the year, we had a workshop with author/illustrator, Georgia Graham.

Then, two grade 7 students wrote the text for the story, Peep Finds her Mommy.
We read the text, and with the help of our smartboard, decided together how to divide it into 23 pages.
Each grade 2 student was responsible for illustrating one page of text.
Before we could begin our illustrations, we needed to decide what the characters would look like. We wanted them to look similar, even though they would be drawn by many different illustrators. All students chose a character/characters to draw. Once all the drawing were posted, we decided which characters looked like they belonged together in the same story.
Then each student drew a rough copy of his/her page, using the posted character prototypes as a guide.
The last step was to create the final designs using sharpie and watercolor.
In the video, each student read the page that he/she illustrated in the book.
I am just learning how to use the video editing software (imovie) and this was my first attempt.
Enjoy our book!
