We read this wonderful book by Richard Van Camp with gorgeous illustrations by George Littlechild. Our discussion after provided an opportunity to meaningfully reflect on our year of literacy in grade two. Every child wrote and drew about "The most beautiful thing I know about reading," and "The most beautiful thing I know about writing." Their reflections are all included in this slideshow. We had an amazing year together!
In our last Unit of Inquiry under the organizing theme: Where We Are in Time & Place, each student interviewed an elder member of his/her family. We were interested in how daily lives have changed over time. The interview responses were compiled into student-created, Then & Now Books.
